Background
Some environments' Developments are setup to use the Valuation Matrix as part of financial assessment of costs and investment analysis
This guide relates to cost heads that are already available via spec/plot/house type where:
- Development already raised
- Missing costs heads already added to development(s) costing matrices via Plot Rebuild
if the required cost heads aren't available on the development, please see VAP / HBCRM - Adding/Amending Plot Costs | Knowledge Base | COINS Support Portal (freshservice.com)
Adding Costs to Tick Group
VAP | Setup |Tick Groups
Add a new tick group for the required cost head
The coding convention for this is as follows:
First Four: First two of this are the build stage (i.e. 04 - Scaffolding), and the last 2 are consecutively numbered
Last Four: This is the cost head
{buildstage}{consecutive numbers} - {costhead}
N.b. - If the new tick group relates to a non-sellable plot (e.g., overheads), then the first four digits are usually just consecutively numbered as these will not relate to a build stage (unless they have a build stage setup for non-sellable items, then the naming convention should apply)
Once the tick group has been raised, this line will appear on the Valuation Matrix for relevant contracts. However, this will not be available for entering values until it is linked to a Payment Stage
Linking to a Payment Stage
Navigate to VAT | Administration | Bulk Payment Stage Maintenance
Find the relevant payment stage. This usually mimics the cost head setup, for example for each cost head (or group of cost heads) used we have payment stage
Open the payment stage, and enter the tick group in the "Tick Group" field:
Once this is saved, then this Valuation Tick Group will accept user-entered values in the Valuation matrix
